Yet Another One (K30)

Dragged home a sister to the other K30. This one is another 1986 M1028a1, all original military drive line, dana 60 front, 14 FF rear, 6.2, 24 volt, NP205, Auto, 4:56s, 18K original miles, some rust, 4 like new tires, good interior, seat, glow plug system, exhaust, last used in Vermont. So far have replaced the driveshaft, batteries, all fluids, almost ready to run. (does turn over) Maybe I can retire the rusty plow truck with this!

Re: Yet Another One (K30)

I have always wanted one, and would really like to acquire one for my next 4x4 project. Even with a rusted to crap body as long as the running gear is in good operating condition as I plan to drop a crewcab on a longbed regular cab frame and would like the 1 ton running gear.

Where have you found these two?

I rarely find any for sale locally.

1969K10 you might try www.govliquidation.com to get a idea of the average price.

Looks like a serious workhorse. I still see these things around on some bases.

Re: Yet Another One (K30)

Got both thru govliq. Paid $1770 for the first one, $1877. for this one. Have had two M1008s in between, one for parts and one I fixed and resold. Both of those I got for about $1300.00. You have to remember those prices are BEFORE the 10% buyer premium, the $60.00 SF97 fee, the cost to go get them (mine all came from Chambersburg, Pa.), and these are online auctions where you pay as soon as you are awarded the lot (truck) via credit card. Each one has been an adventure. ANd you SHOULD actually inpect them before you bid, I would say half have bent driveshafts, parts missing, descriptions are pretty accurate though. See the pic of the M1008 I just sold, a virtually rust free 21 year old truck with only 60k miles, just a few dents LOL.
