Im with you......but......what you have to realize is down here...the pricing is a little different. A driver condition vehicle down here is one with a medium amount of rust.......A vehicle with no rockers, cab corners, Fred Flinstone floors and a swiss cheese bed is a starting point up north (salt area) and down here we pull a few parts off of it and send it to the crusher. I have brought home many $300-$800 trucks that ran and drove and had $2000 worth of parts on it and you would not be able to re-sell them for much more than what you paid for it unless you cut them apart...or...as you mentioned....hauled them up north and re sold them.

Would a 67 small window Chevy or a 67 small window GMC be more desireable? Reason is I have found both in the same town. The GMC is a much more solid truck, but has a leaf spring rear suspension, which I find less desireable.

Typically the resale value of the Chevy's higher, BUT there are some guys that love the GMC's. GMC grilles and small and big back window values are really up the person buying them. I love the small rear window, but others don't. I'd buy the truck you like the best, and tell me where the other one is!

If they are both otherwise low option trucks, condition is everything. I personally like the big windows, but some people like the small windows -- thats a toss-up. Most people like the 67 and 68 Chevy front end better, but for the 69-72's, its a toss-up.

Leaf springs are fine, functionally - just look under an '08 Chevy - still leaf sprung, but some say they ride harsher -- its a truck - so again, no big deal.

But again, with a lower optioned truck, current condition is the most important thing -- why not pick up both and put the Chevy front end on the Jimmy, then you have the best of both worlds

It is hard to beat the trailing arm/coil spring set-up on the Chevy's. Good ride and absolutely no chance of axle wrap. I'll take that over leaf springs any day.
