speedo alarm?
Well, I've been lurking alot while I'm doing the build on my 71 GMC swb ;frame to pwdercoat next week! Walut media'd the whole thing-bla bla bla you get the picture , doing it right. went to Pamona today, hit up CCP for all the componits to do a 4-5 drop, still lots to do, but going back up now!
Now the good part. While my brother and I were there today-he's doing a 68 swb 4wd- I found a tach speedo/vacum etc, exellent restore, but it had someting I'dneverseen before, an alarm dial on the speedo face with a setting Knob to alert you if you speed. The guy does lots of 67-72 stuff and told me its a rare piece, did google search here and on www but could find no info. any one know just how rare this is? Thanks for any info! Stoney L.A./ yes,I got it! |

Re: speedo alarm?
It is quite rare and worth some decent money. The vacuum would have come from a bigger truck, and i think the speedwarning was done in 69...

Re: speedo alarm?
yep, it was called speed warning, and 69 was in fact the last year.
What did you pay for the set up? |

Re: speedo alarm?
cali rat... that was a headlight buzzer, buzzes when you leave the headights on after shutting off the engine.
We are talking about a whole inst cluster with a buzzer that lets you know what you are speeding. |

Re: speedo alarm?
I have one I installed out of a friends truck. He couldn't get it to work so I gave him a good stock speedo and I worked on it and got it working. I used a seat buzzer for it and had to solder the wire on the back of the speedo to get it working.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. Last edited by Andy4639; 01-16-2008 at 05:14 AM. |
