Re: If you had $10,000... What would you do to your truck?

Well I know that 10k in the real world would go into finishing the basement (if I want to stay married),but in the spirit of the thread....I'd put it towards a 572.

Re: If you had $10,000... What would you do to your truck?

I doubt I will ever have to worry about that decision but if I did, I guess Id buy my truck a few friends & have more of them to tinker on. Id really like to own a '67 or '68 short step someday...

Re: If you had $10,000... What would you do to your truck?

I must say this post turned out to be a little more entertaining than I thought! I definitely see a pattern forming with the custom 2wd guys, the 4wd guys and the resto guys!

Re: If you had $10,000... What would you do to your truck?

10K huh.............well Id only need about 2500-5000. Fix all the body panels that have rust on them, repaint the body and interior, clean up the chrome trim rebuild the motor with new heads and intake, new wiring and new tires (counts on fingers) ok maybe abit more..............BUT, that would be after paying my insurance, licensing taxes and fees, bills and repairs to my wifes car (or a trade for another one). I LOVE my truck but realistically (SP?) it falls to the end of the list UNTIL all the afore mentioned things are taken care of.................sighs.............such is life.

I would get my upholstery done. That would probably be just enough to do it.

But I must say this is the smartest guy and only 17 to boot. I sold a super sweet 70K mile original owner 72 fully loaded Blazer for $8K to buy my first house, sold that one for crazy money and bought my curent house with a shop, out building, tons of parking and storage room all posible because I sold a great blazer that I paid $3k two weeks before

Once you have a house alot of other things fall in line!

But since I have a house already I would blow mine on the starts to the new drivetrain for my 70 2WD Blazer

Re: If you had $10,000... What would you do to your truck?

Well, I'm going oddball on ya. I think I'd find me another swb fleet that looks like dammit or a LWB fleet and chop it down. I'd get Nathan porterbuilt on the phone and get my frontend and bags ordered. Kontrol Phreaks would be next for the step notch and 6 link for out back. Probably also get an ART air management system. Newstalgia wheel would probably get a call to get my new wheels on the way, probably some 200s or torque thrust II with grey centers (diameter unknown but 17" or bigger). Am I broke yet.....let's just say no and get the Vintage Air system on the way. It might not be pretty but it would be low!

Re: If you had $10,000... What would you do to your truck?

Let's see I need a cab, stepside bed that is the right year, front fenders, rad support. Then a motor and trans. Airbags if I still had any money. OR I could save it for a down payment on a house.

I'd have both my '67 Dually and my '69 C/10 painted, and would I buy factory interior kits for both if I had enough left over.

I like the way you think! When I get my dually and '69 done, this little jem is getting shop trucked!!
The PO started on it, but never finished it. It's actually a decent truck and its one of the most solid ones I have. He already put new rockers on it and shaved the side markers and door handles. It's a factory air truck too

Re: If you had $10,000... What would you do to your truck?

I would put it into the interior and have a nice paint job done to match my 65 GTO which is done! What's ever left would go into the garage or carport to keep it under cover. TJ

Re: If you had $10,000... What would you do to your truck?

If 10k landed in my lap very little would find it's way to the truck but, for the purposes of this thread.. I'll assume that spending it on the truck is a requirement of getting it.

Vintage Air
A nice late model seat
Engine upgrades (heads, intake, cam, headers)
Camaro gas tank
patch panels
front fenders (inner/outer)
bed

I think that and the incidentals to make all that work shoudl just about eat up 10 grand.

Would leave the truck pretty much a done issue except for paint.

(Ps. When spreading the love at Hendricks, don't forget the #5 car)
