Re: some neat options on this junker.
What was the throttle control? I am starting to wander if my truck had it. When I rebuilt the engine I noticed a wierd solenoid looking thing hooked to the throttle linkage. I had never seen any thing like it before, I thought it was a switch that activated at WOT.

Re: some neat options on this junker.
Probably that is why it is below the dash and not in the radio opening...

Re: some neat options on this junker.
The throttle control goes from the dash, usually on the right side and goes directly to the gas pedal. Not sure why they put it in.

Re: some neat options on this junker.
hub driven farm equipment? You mean this thing has some kind of PTO? most board members that post these have manual transmissions first time I seen it with auto.

Re: some neat options on this junker.
Is that what that second knob on the right of the dash is?
Seems like I remember seeing a farm truck using one of the rear wheels to power a pump once, not sure about that.

OSHA would probably cr*p themselves now if they saw that, but we did it for years. Our old truck had the custom "brick & a stick" method of throttle control. |

Re: some neat options on this junker.
Some ppl used the hand throttle for camper trucks too. Fire it up at 1200 - 1500 RPM to charge the battery(s) and also sometimes they's run a heater core in the camper in back and plumb it to the cooling system, run the engine for heat. Longhorn Jeff's truck was like that when he got it.

The '69 I just bought has the throttle control. It is just below the headlight switch. It is also listed on the SPID. LockDoc

Re: some neat options on this junker.
I have one in my 72 4X4 Blazer, it was a game and fish truck, maybe for crawling in low gear? The can/could be used for lots of stuff, but mostly to push the gas without your foot!!
