Barrett Jackson (custom) classic truck sold @ 75,000

Even though this is not a Chevy I thought it was worth posting. On thursday I watched this truck go over the auction block. All week I have been looking over all the trucks at Barrett Jackson and recording the sales prices. This was one of my favorite pics from earlier in the week to watch. This F-100 was equiped with a crate 502 Fuel Injeceted Chevy Big Block. The truck was completely stunning and no stone unturned. This is a nice benchmark for all of us who build these custom trucks. What I am saying is your trucks worth is always decided by the buyer or buyers in this case. This truck started out bidding up around 20,000 . The bidding slowed at about 50,000 so they started the move off the platform and disclosed some more value in the truck and it closed sale at $75,000.00 After the auction I will post more trucks and pricing.

I think you mean it's an F-100... I think you could build one for less than 75K, but it's a great looking truck, wish I'd kept mine.

It's pretty, but if you're not willing to throw lumber and tools in the back, it just doesn't seem like a truck, to me. Know what I mean?

I think it's pretty sweet. I happen to like (fireproof suit on) the old Ford's. Glad the builder threw a Chevy motor in there though! B/J prices are a little on the high side, but most of the people buying these vehicles have money to burn and probably don't have the ability or time to build their own. They want to get in, turn the key, and show off to their rich buddies.
That being said, I don't really know what the purpose of this post is... other than to show us a pretty truck!

I somewhat agree, but a nice cruiser is meant to be just that, a sweet looking ride. Now the trailer queens that are never driven are another story... That I will never understand. If you just want to look at it, buy a life size poster of it. Vehicles are meant to be enjoyed! Personally, I enjoy them the most while emitting tire smoke

I wouldnt hesitate to throw some good looking color matched liner in that bed and help someone move with it; but thats just me (and I didnt just spend 75k ). I'd drive the wheels off it regardless.

I always appreciate threads with a good looking (or not so good looking) truck. Maybe just stick to the 67-72's if it is B/J related though.

I like the old F-100s also. My next project is a 55 that my father gave me a few summers ago. When my son gets old enough to run a grinder, we will tear it apart and restore it...

Uh, like I said, MOST probably don't have the ability. Your uncle does not fall into that category I guess, but he obviously has a little extra pocket change to burn.
Now back to our regularly scheduled program

The 4x4 blazer at BJ WPB 06 for $6800 in excellent condition was a steal and wasn't registered to bid.

Those trucks are cool. I actually like '66ish & older ford trucks, as long as they have chevy under the hood!

Re: Barrett Jackson (custom) classic truck sold @ 75,000

damn, I was gona buy a really nice 54 F100 about a year and a half ago for just $11,000, but the bank wouldnt give me a loan on it cause it was too old. It had a nicer paintjob than that one too, it had purple ghost flames on black, looked sweet, it didnt have a BB or fuel injection but had a fiberglass tilt hood on it and made it super easy to work on, it was an awesome hot rod, just needed the interior finished up.

Re: Barrett Jackson (custom) classic truck sold @ 75,000

So far all the posts have been very diverse and quite interesting. Regardless of the type of truck this is who could imagine that an older pickup would bring such a large amount of money. Where will we be in five or ten years from now? Only time will tell but a guess might be $100,000 for a maxed out pickup. This has been a overlooked market but it seems to be getting more popular lately to own a hot rod truck. The good side might be that the top end is large and that pulls up prices for the nice trucks being sold at affordable prices. Just my thoughts on this. I will post results on the rest of the trucks at the end of the auction with the selling prices. Mostly Chevys so it keeps it interesting. Thanks for the great input from everyone.

I completely agree. Sometimes a choice of colors can foil a real nice build. I have seen many at shows that have you wondering what was that person thinking. Kind of like that pink house with the green shingled roof and lavender trim. But we must not forget that some people are color blind.
