C-10/C20 frame difference - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

My first post here.
Can anyone confirm the difference in material thickness between a c10 and a c20 frame. Are they the same strength wise? I'm going to be doing alot of trailer pulling and want to start in the right direction.
I don't have a truck yet but I've been looking hard.

I had both a long wheel base 3/4 ton and a short wheel base 1/2 ton and I could not see any difference in metal thickness may be a difference in strength though

the thickness and the size of the C chanel is the same. The 3/4 ton does have added braces, esp on the coil sprung version.
The main advantage to the 3/4 ton is the heavy duty brakes and rear axle with full floating hubs.

Ok, thanx. I have a 14bolt rear with disc brake conversion and a Dana 60 front axle. 4x4 trucks are very hard to come by where I live. So, a 2wheel drive is what I'm going to start with. I've converted a 65 Chevy to 4x4 and it wasn't to hard.
Is the extra bracing on the 3/4ton frame, used to beef up the coil mounts?
