59 Headlight switch?
I've looked everywhere possible with no success. How do you get the stock headlight switch out of a 59 Apache? I thought by pulling the light switch knob all the way out and inserting a wire or something like that along side the knob post would release it, but it's not working.
Can anyone guide me in the right direction, before I totally destroy the switch by ripping it out. Thanks for any feedback, Lee |

Re: 59 Headlight switch?
there is a button on the top of the switch........depress the button while pulling out on the knob and the knob shaft should slide out.........then unscrew the retaining ring and out comes the switch.......

Re: 59 Headlight switch?
Thanks for the help guys, I'll give it a go hopefully tomorrow, or at least by this weekend. I've also noticed no fuse box with the wiring, I'm pulling all that out as well.
Any recommendations on a decent harness? I've seen where American and painless have been used on some of your builds. Are there any that really aren't "PAINLESS?" I take it you guys have installed the new style fusebox too, any problems there? Again, thanks to all for any feedback. Lee |

Re: 59 Headlight switch?
I used painless in one and american in the other.............I liked both of them. Let me know what you decide, I have another complete american kit here that I am not going to use...........

Re: 59 Headlight switch?
Wow, that was too easy, thanks for the help guys. Who'd a thunk, mash the little buttom on top of the switch while pulling out the knob, worked as advertised
Prostreeter58, thanks for the PM on the harness, I'll get back with you this week on it. Lee |
