well,the project has begun...ok..im lying..it began about a year and a half ago and ive finally gotten it all apart and have sent the frame off to powder coating.once the base is done i can start to go back together and hopefully it will resembel the truck it began as,lol.the body work is getting ready to go forward and as soon as i figure out how to post pics here,ill put some up and maby some of you can lead me in the correct direction.seeing some of the projects going on here,i feel a little better about it.ive been a tech for 15 years but the body work scares the hell out of me.more to follow later

i finally got a body man to come by and look at this little jewl,the rust spots are as follows,cab corners,rocker pannels,above the blower motor hole on the firewall in the engine compartment and the drivers side kick pannel where it meets the floorboard,a verry small section of the floor pan there too also has a little rust at the rear window seal area at about the middle of the cab.Mechanically i am ok with the project, but the cutting and welding of the sheetmetal scares the $hi% out of me.Here are a couple of pics as to where i am in this project so far.The plan for the truck is to be dropped 2 1/2 in the front via early classic drop spindles,and 4" drop in the rear.also....the truck will be blown and injected in the end,gonna be a fun truck,I also have some seats that i took out of an 04 f-150 lightning(dont kill me here ) but the seats are bad ass, seude and leather and they are power.I'll get more pics of the frame and the begining of the build up next week when i go to pick up the frame.Hopefully these images work.

to powder coat the frame,upper and lower control arms,all 8 bumper brackets springs,engine cradel and the engine perches it was 759 and i personally think it was worth every penny

YES!!!! I recently got my shipment from eastwood company for my tin zinc plating system.I am plating the bolts and washers for the engine cradel(which is a slow process) but hopefully after the weekend is over ill have them all finished and get the engine cradel bolted back in place.Im kinda bummed becasue the irs broke it off in me so the money i thought i was going to get back in return...i ended up owing,so any new parts have been put on hold for a short time.nothing a second part time job or side work cant take care of.hopefully ill have a couple of new pics up here soon.Also i found someone who can do sheetmetal work a whole lot better than i can and he dropped of the welder the other night,so hopefully the body work wil be moving forward soon too.bear with me guys,i have all the time in the world to work on this truck but the funds are lacking

ok,i finally got my plating experience and after a feiw trial and errors i figured it out.It was nice to have my little helper there with me in the tedious task buffing all the bolts and washers to a nice shine,and up against the black powder coated frame,damn does it look cool)even though when its all said and done youll hardly even see it)but the finished product it definatly worth it.All in all i think i am at the beginning of one hell of a long build here so stay tuned for more updates

man it seems like it is taking forever to get anywhere on this truck and its killing me i did finally get my seats that i have been looking for for the last 2 and a half years and i also just sent the banjo housing down to powder,here are a couple more pics of where i am so far and im hoping to have the money for the front end parts within the next monthso i can get the front suspension done.the seats came out of an 02 ford lightning(i know...booooo hiiissssssssss) but i think they are gonna be bad ass in this truck and considering that the svt stands for special vehicle team(and this will be special when its done) i think it fits.

ok so heres an update on the little project so far.I found someone parting out a 69 c 10 longbed and the doors were perferct...no rust....so i picked them up for 250 total and thats glass and all,i am not planning on using the glass so craigs list it is...lol.While i was pulling the doors i also found that the truck had all the factory ac stuff,plennums wiring,cables,switches and relays so i asked him...how much...he gave all of that to me for 100 buks......again....score I havent really got alot of new pics becasue the progress isnt really all that impressive as of yet.I am scrimping some pennies together and hope to get the rolling chasis done in the next couple of months,well....at leist have it "rolling" and the body work is sceduled to begin next month too.i am excited.I do have some questions about the factory ac unit i have aquired as i am converting my non ac cab to an ac cab and it looks like not all the mounting is exactly the same and on an ac cab the heater core mounts inside the cab rather than outside in a box.has anyone ever done this before?any help or sujestions would be greatly appreciated.and by the way,i would like to thank Me E with his too much homework thread as you have provided some useful information for the fuel tank i am gonna run with also.thanks guys

ok,so I finally made a little progress this last weekend.I picked up a front end rebuild kit from Early Classic and a set of drop spindles.After a week of painting and clear coating all the parts so they all match here are the final results.
i personally think it is comming out pretty good so far,well see if i can keep up the momentum as i am once again out of cash...lol....common side jobs.....let me know what ya think or if you see anything I may not have quite right so far,I have refered back to this sight lots of times to be sure i was putting things back together correctly.

wow,how fast time goes even when you have no money.lol well thanks to budgets for now I am totally on hold,hopefully ill get things going again soon,i am hoping to have at leist a rolling chassis soon.

That is one nice chassis you have there, and times will get better, you just have to stick with it. BTW i have the same roller stool as you SNAP-ON

I feel your pain man. I finally got my rolling chassis done, painted, 4 wheel discs , dropped, etc and it's now been on hold for a couple months. Hopefully some more side work will roll in soon. Yours is looking awesome, keep it up.

after being stalled out for 3 years I have finally started the work on this project again,moved all the body parts down to my unkles and started stripping the paint off the body. cut the dash out to get ready to weld in the new dash with ac!!! I'll be sure to add pics of the progress.
