6 cyl cradle is different from V-8, and 2wd stuff won't work.

Re: WTB I6 motor mounts for a 4X4

Picts, so the whole set up is different? The mounts that I have on the motor, look like they stradle a clamshell type mount (think 72 BBC style). If so I could use a 73 and up crossmember and bolt my mounts to the clamshell style?? Picts please if you have an I6 in a 4X4 lets see picts!!

Re: WTB I6 motor mounts for a 4X4

How soon do you need it??? I have one, but it's currently in my K20. I am going to pull the 250 I6 soon, and put a 350 in it and would be willing to swap for your 8cyl crossmember, depending on how soon you need it. Also I can snap some pics on Sat. if you would like, I would take some today but there is currently a ice storm happening here, LMK, Mike.

ASAP I'd gladly do a swap, or buy it outright. Picts would be great. LMK!!

Re: WTB I6 motor mounts for a 4X4

I'll look around for the ones I had. Not sure if I scrapped 'em or not, but I think the 6cyl crossmember and towers are identical to the v8 ones. The ones I took out of a 71 Blazer looked exactly the same as the ones in my 72 (originally 350 truck).

Re: WTB I6 motor mounts for a 4X4

I think the V8 & 250 6 are interchangable. It's the 292 that would be different, but I could be wrong. I know that I put a 250 6 on a V8 4x4 front crossmember/mounts with no problem - everything bolted up just fine.

The passenger mount on the 292 is further back or forward or something making that one non-interchangable

That could be true. The Blazer was a 250 and I've never seen a 292! LOL

Re: WTB I6 motor mounts for a 4X4

Do you guyshave picts of the 6's in there? My motor mounts are the later style that fit over the clamshell mount. I'd guess a 73 and up style system would work or I need to get the correct L6 Motor mount? HELP, this is too confusing!!

Re: WTB I6 motor mounts for a 4X4

Use the V8 Crossmember with the I6 mounts (the rubber ones should be the same as the V8, but you'll need the metal bracket that bolts on the I6 block that the mount attaches to.)

This was an original '71 K-10 V8 truck, and had a V8 in it when I got it. I pulled it (sick) and replaced it with this good running 250. The metal brackets were on the motor as it was in a '72 truck. But the rubber mounts bolt to the brackets. It is kinda hard to see in the pictures, but maybe they will help.

Yep those are different than the motor side (metal mounts) that I have. I guess I need the metal motor side of the mount, ANYBODY!?
