Re: Project: Bolt one on

Trial fit of the drivers side inner rocker happened this morning.

Used a new piece that's now available, made for trucks but being it has the four 'A' pillar holes and partial floor at the seam it's a good part to use on blazers to IMO.

After 'trial' fitting a couple/few times (notice scratches) it fit up pretty well.

Re: Project: Bolt one on

Cool! I was just thinking about this project yesterday, but I couldn't remember the thread name and was too lazy to look it up.

Good progress.

Where might those have come from? Tri-Pro Automotive perhaps? I'm going to need those as well.

Nice work, great fit Vt. Nice idea on the inner pc. Do you have to do the floors as well. Tim, I think he got all his parts at Tri-Pro. If you look at the 'A' post patch laying there, I believe it's their insignia, but I could be wrong

Yes on the floors.
Have both sides here already but plan on only using what is needed on each side.
Hope to save as much of the original floor as possible.

Correct, the parts came from Tri-Pro.

Re: Project: Bolt one on

Trial fit with the doors turned into a need to bolt down body mount positions #1 & #2 to see where things really were.
Had to shim the firewall mount some but nothing major.

Decent fit for the first go 'round, now I know we're in the ball park and now can fit up the inner rocker and lower 'A' pillar where they will stay.

Things are rolling along. Nice!

Are you painting this one as well...and reassembling it too?

Nice gaps, that is where the work really shows. No wonder mine took so long, my hammer is no where near as big as yours

He won't be painting it, just putting the sheet metal together with no rust.

Re: Project: Bolt one on

Welded the nuts on the inside of the cab mount and test fit the 'a' pillar for final fit, installed the inner rocker for final, then test fit the outter.

Re: Project: Bolt one on

Well you've done it again. These pics are just what I needed to be inspired enough to actually accomplish something on mine today.

Thanks again and nice work as usual!

Re: Project: Bolt one on

Lower pillar and inner rocker almost done.

Next is to reinstall the door and fit up the outter rocker.

Re: Project: Bolt one on

Outer rocker installed.

The gap between the door and the 'b' pillar would of course be closer in final install but it was straight on the first try so I didn't mess with it.

Re: Project: Bolt one on

You're getting pretty good at this body work stuff...I may have you stick around here for about a week or two to finish mine.

Nice work!

Looks good Kurt!

Seeing your progress pics makes the TriPro backorder even MORE painful...

I'm jones'ing to get into the shop to burn some metal on my own K5.

Hah, neither do I. It's why Kurt's doing this part of the project.
