400 Turbo Fluid Leak
I didnt notice it before I pulled the truck out of the driveway but my 400 turbo leaked out about half a quart or more of fluid. Right from the speedo housing. Has to be the o ring. Its back on level ground and need to know the correct way to check the fluid. Is it let it run till warm then check in neutral or check in park?

Its a lot safer to check it in park....but neutral works too

I'm in the same spot with my 400. Probably needs a new driven gear like mine did last weekend. I took the speedo gear off twice putting new seals, but turns out the shaft on the driven gear was wore out. If you jack up the rear of the truck, start up the motor, put it in gear just for a second then kill it, that will spin enough fluid up into the convertor to remove the speedo housing without loosing too much fluid. Probably only loose half a quart at the most.
