Just bought another wrong year

I just bought another truck. It is a 79 K20 GMC Sierra Grande. It has a good 400 motor and a worn 400 trans. Pretty rough with an extra set of chrome rims and bigger tires (not sure what size yet) I couldn't pass it up for $75 no joke. Has a title too! Pretty cool I thought. The body isn't good enough to fix.

Can I use the axles on a 67-72?

I will probably keep the motor and part the rest.

Now why can't I ever find deals like that, I keep comming up with this early 80's C-10 crap for cheap.......I just gave $175 for a full floater 3/4 ton rear axle for my 49, and thought that was plenty cheap. dang.....people like you pizz me off......just kidding......congrats......btw, I'm pretty sure the axles will work under a 67-72 K-20

Dang! $75 for a good 400 V8 would've been enough for me...I'd pull the engine and tranny, sell the truck, and sell the tranny separately!

if you're using the axles under a 4x4 you'll have to move the spring pads inward, relocate the shock mounts and get longer e-brake cables on the rear. the front is a direct bolt in.

to continue the question of the direct bolt in front axel, does that mean that front springs are the same for this truck and my 72 K10?

73 and newer front springs are longer but the center to center width is the same
