Need help! Blazer tank kit on 72 Chevy C10

I leave for Afghanistan in two weeks and need help FAST!

I bought a gas tank relocate kit online and after some research have found its actually for a Blazer, but they sent it saying it fits the trucks. I can't figure out how to mount it tho. I removed the cross bar where the spare went, and tried playing with the tank, but can't seem to get it. It's a plastic-ish tank.

Also looking for a rough estimate on how much it will cost to have cab corners, floor pans, and paint job. Fixing to take it to the shop so itll be ready when I get back!

Who did you get this kit from? I am using an original metal Blazer tank on my 68 truck. We removed the spare cross member put the tank right in place and installed the straps, fits great. Pics of your set up/problem areas would be good also.

Re: Need help! Blazer tank kit on 72 Chevy C10

I bought it from a guy in Tx that restores 68-72's. So I assumed it would be an easy install but the brackets it comes with dont seem to fit in any configuration I try it in. I'll take pics and post tonight.

Another question tho, if there is bad rust spots along the top of the frame where the window meets the top, is that means for scrapping the whole cab? Or is that fairly common?

Thanks again!

I still owe you pictures.

I looked at your build, nice job man, very nice job. I didn't notice how your gas tank went in tho. Where is it bolted down? Where are the straps? I leave for Afghan next week now, so I gotta get this done this weekend.
