What Kind Of Exhaust Are You Running?
I'M TRYING TO DECIDE ON WHAT KIND OF EXHAUST TO RUN. I'M 80% SOLD ON THE GLASSPACK LOOKIN MAGNAFLOWS, BUT I'D LIKE TO KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS ARE RUNNING AND HOW YOU LIKE YOUR SET UPS..
SUGGESTIONS APPRECIATED! PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YEAR, ENGINE AND GOODIES, AND OF COURSE, EXHAUST HEADER TO TIP. HOW DOES IT SOUND? CURRENTLY I AM RUNNING A VERY WELL BUILT 327 COMP CAM WITH 492 HEADS COMP ROLLERS POWER PLUS INTAKE WITH A 750 BARRY GRANT DEMON CARB ALL HOOKED UP TO FLOWTECH CERAMIC COATED POLISHED HEADERS TO MANDRELL BENT 2.5 PIPES GOING INTO DYNOCRAPS DUMPING BEFORE THE REAR END. IT HAS A PRETTY DEEP IDLE BUT ONCE YOU GET ON IT, IT RESONATES AND GETS REAL HIGH PITCH AND TINNY SOUNDING LIKE CRAP! HELP! THANKS GUYS |

Re: What Kind Of Exhaust Are You Running?
my trucks got glass packs which i think r from flowtech (not sure). the engine is a 350 with edelbrock carb and intake, i think it has a new cam (not sure cause i bought the truck like this), and flowtech headers. at idle it is a very low and rough tone and keeps the tone into the higher rpms. just listening to it makes me smile .

Re: What Kind Of Exhaust Are You Running?
i have a 383 stroker with demon 750 double pumpers on it.
ceramic coated hedman headers, dumping into true dual 2.5" stainless pipe. dual mangaflow (i dont know what type, came with the truck, but they arent glasspacks) over the rear end, and then out the back of the truck. qiet when running around town, but you can still tell that theres more then stock under the hood. and when you get on it, it gets... well lets just say it gets vert close to "noise violation" laws. this was right after the motor was put in, so we were a little timid to actually rev it up high. the sounds kinda sucks. but it gives you the idea..

Re: What Kind Of Exhaust Are You Running?
It did until I drug my headers on the ground & made a hellacious exhaust leak
But yes & get comments like "dude, whats under the hood it sounds like a drag truck" or "dang man, your truck sounds like a nascar" This is a old video, & my truck doesn't squeak anymore I need to make a new one lol Last edited by Spray-Bomb; 02-19-2008 at 10:39 AM. |

Re: What Kind Of Exhaust Are You Running?
2-1/2" pipes off stock manifolds through an "X" pipe just beyond the tranny, exiting just beyond the year wheels. Unknown mufflers, but look to be three chamber jobs, or something similarly quiet. Truck is very quiet everywhere, but at the rear.

Re: What Kind Of Exhaust Are You Running?
I`m running an L&L system(loud & leaky).
I wish I could find the Walker TurboTubes I have on my Highlander. They look like a sidepipe muffler and I love the sound.More sophisticated than a glass pack(a little bit) and loud when you want it.The Sierra has Flowmaster 2 chambers.

Re: What Kind Of Exhaust Are You Running?
I paid a local shop to put on a true dual exhaust system on my blazer, with the in house "turbo" mufflers. It actually sounds pretty good for a stock truck, much better than the blown out glass pack. It ended up being cheaper than ordering and shipping a kit from LMC, plus I didn’t have to do any work.
