Should an I6 be level?
Hi,
Just got my 700R4 and I6 together. I am mounting it in the truck but the engine is not level. The front of the engine is 1 inch higher than the back. Is this a big deal? How unlevel before it a problem? Thanks Buck |

I think my 250 L6 sits that way. I'll double check tomorrow.

Re: Should an I6 be level?
Buck,
While I didn't actually measure it, when laying a level on my valve cover of my 250, the front is all of 1-1/2" taller than the rear on stock mounts. Bob |

Re: Should an I6 be level?
I believe it's the carb that you want level (floats and all that...) not necessarily the engine.

Re: Should an I6 be level?
No they don't sit level. Only the intake manifold should be level.

Re: Should an I6 be level?
I am so glad I'm lucky. The intake manifold is almost level. I can drop the trans about 1/2" and it should be good. Thanks for the help.

Re: Should an I6 be level?
Hey Buck,
I'm going to be doing the same thing this Friday. Did you run into any problems, or concerns you could share with me before I start? Thanks, Tim |
