Got a 1 ton crew cab given to me
Hey guys, whats up. I'm usually over at the 67-72 section, but have not been on for a while as I've been toying with my Son's 72 Nova. A real close friend of ours has an 82 Chevy C30, 454, crew cab that asked if I wanted it. Told him that I needed money to put into my other projects. So he said, "no, I mean you can HAVE it...Just if you fix it up and sell it to give me like $500 or something". What a deal huh? It runs & drives and passes CA smog which is a plus. Only 2 things I can find thats wrong with it (aside from the tan color). The "A" pillars are rotted pretty bad, which is not really a big deal because I am completely capable of welding new ones in...just have to find some first. The other thing is that it is M A N U A L steering, and holy crap is it tough, I'll probably pick up a power pump and box for it, just might be a while. It's a 4 speed but has A/C that kicks butt. He just bought a new battery for it and spent $1k getting new brakes all the way around with new rotors and drums. His wife is just tired of seeing everyday...
I have missed having a truck since I sold mu F150 about 5 years ago, had to do a lot of borrowing of friends' trucks, now I won't have to. So anyways, is there anyone who makes "A" pillars? Probably gonna have to find someone that is parting out a truck or something. I'll put up some pics once I pick it up. Mike Last edited by BigMike; 03-18-2008 at 10:14 PM. |

You'll Probably Have To Get The Pillars Off Of Another Truck Or Suburban. If You Go That Route, Get A Spot Weld Cutter And Buy A Few Extra Replacement Cutters For It.

Re: Got a 1 ton crew cab given to me
I know, I know. Just been busy painting the bedroom for the Wife, we all know how fun that is.
I'll try to get them up before the weekend. I'll probably be picking your guys' brains because I have not had a Chevy truck older than 72 in a VERY long time. Mike |
