value question... buddy buckets - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

So, I'm thinking of buying some buddy buckets from the parts board...
Here's my question....
What are a set of sandblasted, painted black, metal framing and center console only (no foam, no covers) ready for recovering worth.

I'm thinking of getting these, but am wondering If I could get my money back out of them at a later date, if I put some clean up and paint time into them... That is provided I dont keep them or use them...
Has anyone on the board ever bought just the buddy buckets frame work, you know where all they needed to do was put on foam and covers??? how much did they pay or be willing to pay for such?

I have only seen one set of original covers that were any good. Most folks seem to want about $300-$400 no matter what they may be worth. I did see a set go for $100 without foam or covers...before I could get to them...LOL!
