Re: project (sweet pea)
...Firewall is DONE.!!!!!!well after a long morning of some last minute of spot glazing . i sanded the whole firewall down with 180 grit and then some finer 220 grit....then i shot 1 very light coat of etch on the bare metal spots. then followed with a light sanding, 1 light coat of primer. i let that dry for about 5 10 min . 2 more medium coats and one heavy coat.....feels pretty good to get the firewall done...when i first started this i did not think i would have gotten as picky as i did ... you know just a simple shave and that was it...but as i seen the way others did theirs .the ball started rolling and it was a full on shave everything....none the less its done....i will do a final block with some 320 0r 400 seal and shoot some color on it....but that will have to wait for a while....i got to tackle the floor now....Anyways here are a few pics..........

Re: project (sweet pea)
well got off work a lil early today...so i decided to get my engine and trans off the stand and the trans off the floor....after about an hour and a half ....i had it all buttoned up....i may have to take it back out to install all the brake lines...but as easy as it was to put in...shouldnt be no big deal.......and now i can at least roll it up to the other garage and keep all the dust and debris from getting into it.....the old sheet i had covering everything had seen better days.....anyways although not done yet .....its in..............

Re: project (sweet pea)
well some small updates... got the driver side floor cut out and the new piece all welded in ...also got the driver side floor support in .and the lower fender mount in....was pretty easy ,just time consuming to let all the welds cool to prevent any warping....i still got a little....but i will try and get it to shrink best i can....there is no tin canning but there is one high spot i dont like....i did coat everything before and after welding with a high Zinc Weld through primer ..its from Wurth..its called alumi-zinc...its great stuff....tomorrow i hope to get the driver side rear floor cut out and the new floor support in...we will see how it goes.....i think i am getting the flu..
..anyways here are a few update pics......... tony |
