Talking scored my engine :)

found a 350 that was bored 30 over boiled, mangafluxed ect. the whole works done on it. came with a balanced crank, balanced pistons(didn't know they even balanced pistons) crane energizer cam and lifters bearings, and piston rings. When i got there he gave me a box with a used started and solenoid, and a serpentine belt system(92 chevy oem). Got it all for 450 bucks

if someone would do me a favor and decrypt the cam info, and tell me the power range and such.

lift: intake @ cam 300 @valve 450
exhauset @ cam 300 @valve 450

min rpm 2200 max rpm 5200 valve float 6500

cam timing @ .050

intake opens 7.0 deg btdc closes 31.0 deg abdc max lift 102 deg atdc duration 218 deg
exhaust opens 39.0 deg bbdc closes (1.0 deg) btdc max lift 110 deg btdc duration 218 deg

Re: scored my engine :)

I would say it's this cam provided the information you outlined (oops I thought the link above was for something different..it's for just the cam, this one is for the cam/lifter set):

Decent all around street cam. Depends on what compression ratio you will end up with and what heads your using etc. Is there a part number on the pistons?

Re: scored my engine :)

Sounds like you got the "bargain of the week" (as a local grocery chain used to advertise) on that motor.
Congrats.

Re: scored my engine :)

Sounds like a good deal to me. Add a nice flowing set of heads, intake, carb, and hot distributor and you'll have a healthy little motor.

You didn't mention rods but I will assume they are already on the pistons. What they do to balance pistons and rods is take the weight of the lightest piston, rod, rings, and bearing then make all the assemblies match that weight

Re: scored my engine :)

Summit says they have a + 5cc

Federal-Mogul says - 5cc (which is close if they have 4 valve reliefs)

http://21cgt.com/FMWebCatalog/default.htm

@ -5cc with an .041 Head gasket & .010 Piston in the hole calculations and a stock stroke of 3.48:

64cc Head would be around 10.1:1
76cc Head would be around 8.9:1

I would be inclined to go with a 76cc head and have it milled .010 or so to get you into the 9.2-9.4:1 range.

This is a cool little tool, I would say that it is pretty accurate -
