MSD ignition died!
What a bummer! I have a 6AL box on my 72 K20 along with all the other MSD stuff, and this morning I went out to start it and it would'nt fire. I found out it had no spark, and called the msd company. They told me how to test it, and it appears the brain box went bad suddenly. My truck is now out of commission for a couple weeks! Oh well.......................

Just a thought but have you checked the connection from the box to the distributor. Mine was still together but not making contact and the truck had no spark. They should have made a locking plug for that connection

Same thing happened with my MSD product. Died in a parking lot miles from home. Thankfully, about 4 blocks away was a Pep Boys. I bought a Accel module.
I was going to buy another MSD- but then decided against it. My rig never sees the RPM's that makes an MSD useful. And- the Accel module was about 30 bucks cheaper.

I don't know if the MSD system makes a big difference in performance or not, I'm sure my truck doesnt get anywhere near the RPMs the box is designed for. MSD said it will be between $25 to $85 to repair the box so I'm gonna try it. If nothing else it looks cool when you open the hood!

I can't find my MSD installation manual, but I'm thinkin' you can wire around the box & wire your ignition switch to the coil to get you up & running temporarily.
I would disconnect the spark box from the battery so you don't "light yourself up." Don't get old. The memory is the second thing to go! Good luck.

same thing happened to me, but it wasn't dead!
check the white wire coming from the box. this wire is also used as a kill switch when not running points! my white wire grounded... and all of us sudden the motor died. hmm, could the box have gone out? i checked all the wiring, and sure enough the white wire was being pinched by a sheet metal plate i used to mount the box on. cut the wire, sealed it with tape and no more problems! its worth checkin out.

im runnin an old holley msd box ive had it for a lil over 6 yrs no problems.. no pills analog adjustments
