Power steering question

Will a 73-87 gearbox work in my '70? Mine is junk and I can get one out of a 73-87 much easier. Thanks

Re: Power steering question

It will work and probably give you quicker steering to boot (2.5 turns lock tolock instead of 3.5). One problem (easily solved) is that somewhere along the way the hose fittings into boxes changed, if thats the case on the one you get you can either change hoses or get some hose fitting adaptors ( http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=242458 ).

Re: Power steering question

I'm thinking something like the shafts are different.....??...ratio..?...lines???
Napa has different part #'s if that means anything??

I would spend the 160 dollars on a new rebuilt and be done.

Otherwise pull the new..er box and compare if you got nothing to lose
