Guage panel and grommet thingy
Any body know if this is the way this cover should fit over the column grommet? I seem to remember that it should ride up higher by where the dashed line is. Why the gap? The holes line up

The rubber goes on top of the bracket.

No, it doesn't.
Somethings not right with yours nyncompute. I'd say bend it, but I can't tell if that'll help.

Re: Guage panel and grommet thingy
The column looks to be on too steep of an angle you didn't change the bracket under the hood did you.

Re: Guage panel and grommet thingy
I changed everything. The bezel, the column, the grommet.. you name it. Was a standard column, now it's a tilt.

Re: Guage panel and grommet thingy
Do you have the band on the bracket on the firewall under the hood

Re: Guage panel and grommet thingy
Something is up. It looks in your pic that the top of the rubber is squished. The column is too high up in the dash.

Re: Guage panel and grommet thingy
-
Column is either too high at the top (my guess) or too low at the bottom. If you have the bracket installed where the column comes through the firewall (engine side) then you may have something put together wrong under the dash..... The cover fits like you have it but the curve should fit up against the curve in the rubber (at least real close) LockDoc

Re: Guage panel and grommet thingy
this seems to be a common problem, you've tightened the column mount under the dash too much.
