wiper knob
How does the wiper switch knob come off on a '65 GMC. There is no set screw in sight.

With the knob all the way out, reach behind the dash and on top of the light switch there is a spring loaded button. Push the buttom down and pull the rod and knob out. It can be a little tricky/frustrating until you get the hang of it.
edit: that button may be on the side.....been a while since I've done it.

 On the wiper switch knob there should be a set screw IIRC. Is it an original style switch?

The original single-speed and 2-speed wiper switch knobs were secured to the wiper switch via a flathead or allen head set screw. Sometimes the cavity is filled up and hard to detect. After the set screw is loosened, it simply pulls off the switch. I hope this information is helpful.
