Front bumper brackets help?
I think this has been covered before yet i cannot find it. I am having troubles mounting my front bumper the drivers side bracket is hitting the power steering gear box... Do I need to cut the bracket??? If so anyone have a photo of how much should be cut?? Sorry if this is a repost.

Did you buy an after market bracket? It should miss our box, im sure someone will chime in.

Yes, I think it needs to be notched on some year trucks. I don't know how much. By the way, welcome to the board from Iowa. LockDoc

I had the brackets switched.....fix the issue when i changed them to the right side

There are a few differences between the applications. For example a 67 bumper bracket on drivers side typically was not recessed for the PS box as PS was a different style and used a different box than a PS box..67 used ram assists PS.
68-72 2 wd GMC should be the same. 68-70 2 wd Chev should be the same as the 68-72 GMC 2wd. 4x4 are unto themselves and 68-72 gmc 4x4 are same as 68-70 Chev 4wd. 4x4 71-72 chev are their own style also...longer due to signal lights in bumper. You may run into brackets that dont have a recessed clearance for the PS box because the truck was shipped with brackets not originally ordered with PS option. Rod
