Terrace Blue 1972 GMC only color

After a little research I discovered a 1972 GMC only color I liked, and wanted to see if anyone has there truck with this still on it. I found one in a junkyard here and pulled most of the interior parts, I need to go back for the belts, but I even got a pretty good dash pad. The exterior was badly faded and rusted. I would love to see good pictures of a truck still painted the terrace blue, please post!

My '67 is Terrace Blue. Seems it was a GMC-only color in '67 too.

mannn, that's too pretty to be driven in LA. Please tell me it's locked up most of the time.

Maybe it's the lighting, but that looks more like medium green. Very nice, but the one I saw and the parts I pulled from it were a darker shade and bluer.

Re: Terrace Blue 1972 GMC only color

The picture is off a bit, the color is definately blue. As for L.A., your probably more likely to have a late model Honda or Acura stolen around here than anything else. But I keep this truck on a short leash anyway!

Beautiful truck,Bob.You`ve been holding out on us.That Terrace Blue is what I think of as a torquoise color...right there at the tansition between blue and green, like aqua.Definately a bluish green/greenish blue.

Re: Terrace Blue 1972 GMC only color

I did some more looking and the terrace blue was offered in a couple other years too. Maybe the note on the 72 chart just meant it was GMC only that year. Who knows. I like the color. Maybe add some metal flake too.

Thanks Bob for the picture. That has to be one of the best polish jobs ever.

Any others have pics?

Re: Terrace Blue 1972 GMC only color

Thanks guys! This truck was a very straight 1 owner deal, so it didn't take too much to get it looking good. Special K is right, Terrace Blue is a turquoise. A bit more blue than green. Anyone know what years it was offered? Can't say I ever saw it on a Chevy, and I don't think GMC offered it every year from '67-'72.

All right you HAVE to tell me where these yards are, it is killing me trying to figure out where you get these parts from.

This is where experience wins out over youth. I actually toured another junkyard today with a very rough K-5, two 4x4 C-20's, and about 4 or 5 C-10's. Still a lot of parts left to, some hadn't really been touched since the were dropped off there. I had my tools, but no time today, so I'll have to go back when it warms up some. I promice that I'll tell you after I'm through scavenging.
