Jack ?

Can anyone tell me what this other mount is for? I'm assuming this is for the jack, but it also still has the standard mounting hardware.

Re: Jack ?

Flux capacitor bracket maybe??? One of my trucks has that bracket. I think its in the green '71 GMC I used the doors and fenders from for my dually, but I'm not 100% sure.

Re: Jack ?

thats right it's for the factory crank up jack, mount is right rear floor in the cab behind the seat. the other mounts are for the jack crank rod and tire iron. most of the people only used the pos once and went out and bought a real jackall. 463

Re: Jack ?

I saw the same mount in a 67 at a junk yard the other day. Did earlier trucks mount the jack accessories under the seat? Did they switch to standing them in the corner of the cab in a bag at some point?

Re: Jack ?

I think 67-8's placed the jack handle under the seat and could be accessed by leaning the back of the seat forward. In 69 they moved the handle and "fixed" the seat back.

Re: Jack ?

Here is the picture of my Jack holder. Just like 463 said, the other one is for the crank and the Iron. I donīt have the iron anymore and I just throw the crank under the seat because itīs not too easy to get to the other one with the carpet over it.
