Turning a 72K5 Blazer into a dump truck
I have a 72 blazer parts truck that I used to get my 71 Blazer roadworthy; now I have a 72 4x4 rolliing Blazer frame that needs a project. I am considering making a light weight dump truck with a pickup cab/fenders/hood etc., on the Blazer frame (seems like I'm always hauling topsoil or mulch somewhere on my four acres) but I can't locate frame specifications like the ones body shops use to measure between points on the frame; I need to know the differences between the Blazer frame and the SWB frame; not just the fact that the Blazer wheelbase is shorter. I'm guessing I have to move body mounts, etc. I guess as a start, I'm asking if anyone knows where I can locate frame specs?
Has anyone got a pic of a dumptruck or a pickup that has been modified into one? Thanks!! |

I cant give you the frame specs or a pic of a dump truck, but I can give you a pic of a blazer truck. He welded the top and back of a cab onto the blazer body. It makes a short, short bed. This wont work for you, as you want a dump bed but it gives you an idea of size it would be.
If you were closer, I would offer a trade for a 70 custom camper frame.

try and find a logger box for the blazer. I think they are really short boxes used on logging blazers. Someone here should be able to explain what it is.
