bumper guards
anyone know if bumper guards ever came painted or if they were all chrome

I guess i have never seen the tall 71-72 style painted, but the short 67-70 came either way for sure...

Neve seen the 71/72 style painted but the 70- down could be had both ways and commonly people buy the painted ones and trim them to fit the 71/72 bumper and then have them chromed. The curves are different on the earlier bumpers and they don't fit correctly if this is not done.

What I saw were a pair I had in a box (N.O.S.) and a set on a rare truck.It was a`72 GMC 3500 cattle rack truck.This thing was restored to perfection,red with white top,trim,and wheels.The wheels were the wide-5 up front and 10 on back.It was a HD 1t.Like the StepVans you see.

well thats cool, i am running the original painted bumper and was wanting some guards. i wouldnt want them with the rubber strip though. i guess i will have to just keep my eyes peeled b/c i have yet to see them, but if anyone know where i could round them up dont be shy
