Clicking noise - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Yet another noise problem - My truck has always made a "clicking" noise at about 20 mph. No probelm right? It just started happening about all the time now. Sounds like it is coming from the floor (tranny) or pasenger side firewall (can't track it down). Any sugestions? ::note - it started doing it all the time when I had my dash off & drove it around today with no dash. Maybe I just never noticed it at other speeds?::

Speedo maybe? Wheel bearings? U-joints? Could be several things causing it.

driving home today a loud clicking type noise started coming from the passanger side under the dash. it would stop when i hit the brakes, and then back again when i accelorated. when i stopped completely and then started moving again, it was gone.

I put my dash back together and... umm.... it stopped.

It would still be nice to know if other people have the same noise coming from their trucks.

only clicking noise i have from that location is a header collector gasket going bad..
