Rear end options C20
I've got a '67 C20 with an Eaton rear end I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, and it is geared pretty high. I tried to count and I believe it is 4.56. Is there a bolt in swap where I could get 3.73's? A 12 bolt or a dana 60 from a later model I should look for?
Thanks! Tyler |

Re: Rear end options C20
All Eaton HO52s are geared low.The highest gear is 4.10 and a rare 3.90 (not much better).I say high when the ratio is lower.A low gear is a high ratio.
A Dana60 from a GMC will go in pretty directly, maybe brake lines aren`t the same. The highest gear is 3.54. You can go with a 14-bolt from`73-up.What Longhorn Man was getting at is one shock mount will need moved as well as the spring saddles. If you have a coil rear you`ll also need to change spring saddles and the best bolt-in is that 3.54 Dana60,if you can find one.I guess you can still get a gear set and install in any GM Dana60 from these years.

Re: Rear end options C20
Thanks for the replies. It's got coils and I have some welding ability but I was hoping for a bolt in since I don't have a shop yet and may not for at least a year. Did the GMC dana 60s have the coil springs as well?
