Name that electical component, part 2....

Hello all,

In the midst of a rewire using painless kit. Tying to determine if I need this little box. Looks like a relay. The old harness was plugged into it. Not sure if its needed anymore (Much like the transmission emissions items from previous posts).

Let me know your thoughts. Truck is 1970 C10, 455 Buick, HEI, Auto.

Just noticed it was a painless, so nevermind.

ALso saw another 455 out here. Glad to see one. I'm running the exact setup, But mine is a 76. Not near the HP of earlier ones.

Are you running a 71??.

I'm afraid the 455 is from the smog days. I'm thinking 73-74. After I get the wires buttoned up, I plan to pull the 455 and rebuild hopefully. Needs seals at the very least.

Well your better off then mine.. a 76. I'm told some 71 heads are a direct swap with about 180 hp gain.
