How much should I pay?

I found a guy parting out a c20 big block truck with disk brakes. I told him I want the whole front end to swap into mine 68c20. How much should I offer that would be fair? Im thinking of taking upper/lower A arms, spindle, disk, and brake caliper as one unit. Or do I need more.?

Re: How much should I pay?

Not sure what to say about the value where you are.. up here I usually just toss 3/4 ton stuff in my metal scrap bin and get so much a ton.

You would also need all of the front brake lines, power brake booster, master cylinder and proportioning valve, plus make sure you chisel off the little tabs on the crossmember that hold the caliper flexible brake hoses to the crossmember. (they are different than drum brakes)

Go for the motor mounts, they are worth some money.

Re: How much should I pay?

Never make an offer. Ask what he wants.

What if you offer more than he will take?

If he says make an offer, offer $ 1.00

Then say, well, you got your offer. Smile, then say, now what will YOU take.
