Question does anyone here collect old tools?

i have ended up with an old "crankshaft turning tool". it's in it's original wood box with the original instruction booklet, dated 1929. one of the pictures in the book shows a man turning a "model T" crankshaft. the crankshaft is chucked up in a lathe and the turning tool rests on the lathe bed. it's a heavy S.O.B. so shipping would be outreageous. i don't know anyone that collects old machine shop tools around here so i thought i'd check with you guys/gals. i have no idea on a value-if any- but if someone was serious about it, we could discuss it further and i could take some pics.

Re: does anyone here collect old tools?

jerry paps message board is down. we have been trying to get it back up for him but we keep missing each other. His main site is still up http://papawswrench.com and he frequents our sister site streetcruizin.com as well. I will send him a note there to look at this thread. Hopefully his site will be fully running again by tonight.

Re: does anyone here collect old tools?

That is a great tool! I have seen one like it, but it was a long time ago. My Tool Talk forum is down as Liz said, but when it is back up and running, we can post there and try to find you someone who is interested in it. I have a few members that are into old machine tools and such.
