trailer hitch question
I am going to be installing a class III reciever onto the the back of my truck (67 longbed half ton) so I can tow a flatbed trailer. Any of you guys used a reciever from a doner truck other than ours without having to do any modifications (other than re drilling some holes in the frame) like from maybe a 73 and up truck?
thanks guys Mike

Re: trailer hitch question
I have no clue what mine is dupposed to be for, but it shows something that you need to check.
Obviously the frame rail width would be the first thing (I am 99% sure the 73 - 87 would be fine, the beds bolt on) The drop is very important too. The one that was on my first longhorn when I got it (then on my 69 short/fleet and now on the one ton) hangs too low. It has smacked the ground WAY too much for my taste, and when I had the chrome stock bumper on there, it looked retarded it was so low. Now I have a big stupid lookin hillbilly bumper on the back and if drops low enough it doesn't look so stupid under there. |

Re: trailer hitch question
well I pulled one off a 85 suburban yesterday and the frame width was right but the bar was angled slighly upward so I couldnt use it. Back to the wrecking yard
