Re: DOOR LOCK REPLACEMENT-72 chevy

Remove your door panels, and with the window up you will be able to see a "U" shaped clip that holds the lock cylinder in place. Slip the clip out from under it and the lock will darn neer fall out to the ground. There is a little clip that holds the lock pall to the lock. Push it to one side and the pall will come off. Reverce the proceedure to install your new locks. WES

Re: DOOR LOCK REPLACEMENT-72 chevy

I just got into this yesterday. I used this thread and the attached link:

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=213860

The only thing I had problems with was destroying the estucheons while removing the door and window interior handles. They just fell apart when I tried to get to the clip that holds the handles on.

Re: DOOR LOCK REPLACEMENT-72 chevy

to say it all again my way

remove door panel

look for the lock. get pliers on the square shape thing, and pull it out, it's sandwiched in there. then the lock will fall out the outside of the door, remove the clip, and l shaped bracket, replace them on the new lock, slide in the thing... done
