Re: Project "Blacked Out" Begins!
that satin black rendering looks great Jkaylor, just the right amount of black & chrome. If you end up with a LSX motor (5.3 or 5.7) you wont be sorry. & if you figure in the cost of a quality rebuild of a small block, the LSX starts looking very affordalbe.

Re: Project "Blacked Out" Begins!
The rendering looks KILLER! The chrome hood and window trim REALLY sets it off!

Re: Project "Blacked Out" Begins!
O.K. so I quit being lazy and snapped a few photos of smoothing the frame. Sorry it has been so long since i updated but here goes.
Removed the four bars, panhard, coil-overs and rear-end from out back, stripped the Ifs from the front, dissasembled al lthe sheetmetal now that I am 100 percent positive it all fit good and oh by the way, went and registered the truck and gots me a new title. WIth the front and rear out of the way I began unbolting the cab, I plan on removing it next weekend so I can take the frame out and finish it up. figured I would take a sick day. so after grinding the welds we roughed up the frame and applied a little bondo to about 15-percent of the frame. It works out great, stuck great and filled ALOT of pits and little rough spots. I will get some more pics tom.

Re: Project "Blacked Out" Begins!
Projects looking good! Have you decided on a motor combo before you finish up that frame. Would hate to see mounts need to change one it is all perdy. Also I was reading some were that you should not fill in your wipers but cap them instead and stash the arms under the seat, wish i could remember were I read that Keep up the progress.

Re: Project "Blacked Out" Begins!
good stuff. Thats for a daily driver, this on the other hand will be anything but. No I have decided on an LS-1 so my mounts will be just fine.
WIsh I had more time to work on it but dang have I been busy.

Re: Project "Blacked Out" Begins!
O.K. the long awaited update, Casey and I completed the bondo work from the firewall forward and the frame looks great. I am glad we decided to do this because it looks really nice. WHile a few holes remain I will get over it but anyway, I primed it and reassembled the front suspension, Now I have to do the back half before I can pull the cab.

Re: Project "Blacked Out" Begins!
O.k so at this weekends Goodguys show, I saw a handful of AD trucks I really like. I am beginning to like the neon green wheen with the black sheetmetal and the crew ralley also. Talked to the better half and she digs them also. I am going to chek into the possibilities.

Re: Project "Blacked Out" Begins!
you will probably need to notch the front crossmember to clear your rack and pinion before you get it all painted.
