6.0L 4L80E in my 1970
Gents,
I can get a decent deal on a 2007 6.0L with a 4L80E trans with less than 100 miles, not 100K, 100. Does anyone make a harness for this engine, or am i going to have to go with a 2005? The guy selling it has the complete harness and ecu. Rigo |

Search for Shifty's posts on Gen3 conversion info. There's a ton of good stuff there.

This should be the Conversions & Hybrids section. I think you will find a similar thread for shiftty there also. speartech.com comes highly recommended from the LS1tech.com people, he is a very active board sponsor. Hope this helps!

Re: 6.0L 4L80E in my 1970
I have looked at all of the vendors that sell harnesses. I am waiting on a response. I was wondering if anyone here had done this conversion already and had insight on the whole process. I may have to break down and get an older eng/trans combo.
2007 6.0 with less than 100 miles on it! Dang it! I want it. |

My .02
Depending on the deal you're getting, I'd say buy it. With 100 original miles, you can always sell the engine and trans if you can't get a wiring harness for it. |

Call John at Speartech, I'm sure he can hook you up, or at worst, use an earlier computer (which he has) youl want to use one of his custom harness anyway, so you can hide the computer.

Re: 6.0L 4L80E in my 1970
DO IT!!! If I can figure this stuff out, ANYBODY can. Learned most of what I needed to know right here. See these:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=244448 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=195643 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=269754 and my own shameless plug.......(haven't updated it in a while though) http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=287015 The wiring seems intimidating until you tear into it. A good set of diagrams and a little encouragement was all it took. It's harder to make the harness LOOK good than it is to make it work. By modding the stock harness, you can route it where ever you want AND you can gloat about doin' it yourself, not to mention saving a few hundred bucks. Good luck with which ever way you go! E~ |

Re: 6.0L 4L80E in my 1970
Lots of good info on here. I'm putting 5.3/4L60E in my 69 Burb and my 67 4Door Crewcab.
