Well I finally worked out all the kinks in my gauge Install. I decided to use the VDO Vision series for this time around, still planning on doing an Autometer Install. I only have two useable pictures to show at this time. My digital camera's autofocus decided to head south, so most of them turn out blurry.

Let me know what you think of them, I'll try to get some more pictures (Including a night-illuimated one), and once I have my article written, I'll post that on my page with the install pictures.

Pretty much prepared to do it just like Mike Ervin did..

Infact almost all the same alterations were completed (Except I cut all of the rear tunnel off of the bezel.)

Only difference was in the mounting. He mounted his from the rear and used wire - I slid mine in from the front and used the snap rings VDO gave me.

I think they turned out well, but personally I do like the way the Autometers look better.

One thing I noticed about your install.
Now that you dont have the original gauge cluster in the dash, you can not use many of the screws to hold the bezel on. This was a problem I also had with my install. I thought about puttin in fake screws (glued in, to look real). But then I thought, what if I cant remember which were fake and I try to unscrew a glued one. So I went to checker and bought some interior "things" off the little rack. They are plugs for the interior of a Nissan (which one, I dont know). But youll see them in the litle racks of misc. screws, bolts, and washers. Heres a picture of the little plugs I used. They fit right into the holes, and I think they look pretty clean.

I contacted Empire Motorsports and they make a billet aluminum bezel that is made to use aftermarket guages the part number is P/N# 8187AP and the mounting holes are 3 3/8" for the 2 center guages and 2 1/16" for the supposrt guages. I don't remember the price off hand but go to www.empiremotorsports.com and email them and they'll let ya know.

Guages look great. I'm confused those. Why can't you use the original screw holes in the green instrument bezel to mount the outer bezel too? I thought that you had to cut the green bezel but not actually remove it. Please explain. Thanks!

I could not use the OEM green dash bezel. I cut out the back ad I had planned to use it as Mike Ervin did - but it did not fit well around the gauges.

I opted to hack it up further and just use the PRND12 indicator and turn signal part of it.

Oh well, nothing is perfect.

Im not sure who you are asking, but since I posted about the screw holes Ill answer too. I didnt even think of it when I did mine until it was too late. Kinda modified as I went. Im pretty sure that you could cut the green peice and still have those screws, but mine is gone now (I might have it around somewhere).
