I see where allot of people use a 4 or 3 bar setup but why not a ladder bar?

Also are there anyone else out there besides air ride for a kit? I want to drop my truck but just cannot see notching the frame or altering the bed....

If you have a 55-59 that is dropped and no frame notching post up some pictures...

Are you plans to "lower" it or "drop it"? I would say a 4 link with bags to drop it seems to be the most popular. I went with conventional suspension and will pull a few rear leaves with the Must.II front. Most guys who want to "lay frame" will notch the chassis.

Well both.. I want it to have a nice low driveable stance but then I want to drop it when it gets parked.

I am wondering why people don't use the ladderbar setup instead of a 4 link...

I never investigated it myself, so I couldn't tell you. I understand the idea though. It seems to be an "anti-theft" device, lol. I may do that with my next project. The kits seem to be cheaper now and more reliable.

From My X Perience The Ladder Bars Do Have More Hop Than A 4 Link Setup. Also A 4 Link W/ Air Bags Will Only Work Or Have Good Ride If The Air Bags Are In Front Of The Axle.

Well I am not going for a race truck just a good street cruiser.. Might do the ladder bar setup and try it first.. I don't see where ti would be that bif of a deal... I have ran the adjustable ladder bars on allot of drag cars so it should work fine..

they will work, it is just a different design, different geometry.

i have seen some 42" bars in the speedway catalog. i have read that you want the bars to be at least some percentage of the wheelbase, like 40% or something like that.

you will likely need a notch in the frame for clearance for the axle if you lower the truck much; you may not need large notch or have to z the frame, unless you want to lay the frame
