Which IFS & rear do you recommend?

Hey fellas, I have a 53 chevy pu i've recently started working on. I've done my homework on mustang II IFS and want to get your guys input on which you would recommend and why. My plans are to bag it all the way around, & install a 350 engine.

Is there one that stands above all or are they somewhat all equal...TCI, Heidts, FatMan? Whats a good price to pay?

What do you recommend for a rear end?

Thanks in advance for all your suggestions, greatly appreciated

Re: Which IFS & rear do you recommend?

bad, Take a look at my build thread, we used Heidts and it was pretty easy to install. I don't know about anybody else's because this is the first one that I have done. There are several 47-54 trucks being built right now so you might do some searching around to see what everyone else is using. Good Luck.

My opinions on AD trk IFS options is discussed on www.meyerbrosrods.com along w/pics of a 48 GMC & a 57 chevy trk.

For the rear I have settled with using Crysler 5th ave rear springs - hangers & all on the last 3 AD's I have made.

Good luck Don

PS-If you decide on a Must II type I have been happy w/TCI. Their quality & design are as good as the others & they are cheaper if you search the web.

Bernie, Don

Thanks for taking the time to respond and leaving feedback. Checked out your reference build and they are great plus other i've seen here. Just wondering on the performance on the TCI or Heidts, which are the two that i was considering. Tried posting a picture of my build in progress but i guess i did it wrong, i'll try again.

Thanks fellas

Bad, I used the TCI MII IFS with a "third gen" powertrain from my '84 Z/28. My '54 has a TPI 5.7 with a 700R4 and an '87 10 bolt posi with disc and 3.73's. You can check out my build as well.
