tilt conversion

i am going to remove a tilt coloum form a 80's model chevy van what all do i need to do to make this work?

I would start by removing your old one and meassuring , take note where the mounting bracket is and being that its not an original column or year part, you may have to modify its mounting bracket, I would start by comparing before removing,

I think there is a write up about it in the FAQ, about exactly what is needed and what steps to take...

I hope by 80's, you mean 80 - early 82... those are real easy with no ignition switch on them.

72 to 81... and a handfull of 82's. Look for no ignition switc in the column. Should be cheap in the wrecking yards.

To save looking time the junk yard, look for the Chevy vans that only have the round headlights. They are the ones that would have the columns that fit.
