Swapping from qjet to 1406: What's needed?
Gonna get a remanned Edelbrock 1406 carb to replace the quadrajet. What all will I need? I'm guessing new intake to eliminate the adapter plate? Any probs w/ the throttle linkage? Thanks in advance.

Re: Swapping from qjet to 1406: What's needed?
on my truck i went with a 2701 intake from edelbrock, intake gasket set # 101B, edelbrock air cleaner #1208, fuel filter edelbrock #29883 (it's the bent chrome pipe) and a spectrum filter #2358. that was the first $190. the 1406 was $260. i then modified a gm throttle linkage to work. edelbrock has a multy fit throttle linkage apx price at apx $50. the was at the checker store (best price & good help) this was a basic plug and play with not very much messing around with it. you know i should have did this years ago. worth while upgrade in my books. here is a link to the truck. 463 http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...s/truck002.jpg
