Not really my kind of thing, but it does show a lot of attention to detail.

It no longer looks like a classic. Definetly, not liking the dash. Just my $.02

Re: Crazy Looking Custom on Evil Bay
personaly i like it. Its deffinatly has its custom touches. dont like dash & headlights...everything else is very cool. i like the side exit exhaust, and i like the custom work with the wheel wells, im guessing using 88-98 wheel wells? looks cool

Re: Crazy Looking Custom on Evil Bay
Someone put a lot of time into that thing. Probably would have been nicer with the OE headlights, etc.

Re: Crazy Looking Custom on Evil Bay
I still have the mag that it was featured in probably 8 years ago or so... Incredible craftsmanship... Not my taste but VERY well done! I think with a 67/68 headlamps is would look much better...

Re: Crazy Looking Custom on Evil Bay
That truck was built for Joe McPherson, he owned a fleet of dealerships down the street from my office. Died last year, now they are selling off all the toys

Re: Crazy Looking Custom on Evil Bay
i really like the look of that. so many generations of trucks into one. It seems to flow really well.
I would have shaved the handles, and i'm assuming that's the lock half way down the door. |

Re: Crazy Looking Custom on Evil Bay
Most of it I am okay with. It looks like MANY hours were poured into that. I personally wouldn't have picked those headlights or the dash....but the rest is growing on me.

Re: Crazy Looking Custom on Evil Bay
Those are locks.... I always scratched my head on why they did that.. I could see them on the green truck in the pic next to mine but miss the point on this truck...

But I'll add that I'm not liking the squared off wheel wells

I remember that one too, it was on the cover of one of the very first issues of Streettrucks.

Re: Crazy Looking Custom on Evil Bay
I would like to work with the guy who built that truck for a month or two. We may not all agree on the mods but the craftsmanship with out a doubt is great work.

Re: Crazy Looking Custom on Evil Bay
I`ll never understand the temptation to take one of the best looking designs of all times and want to change it.Why not start with something no one would take a second look at and turn their heads around?

Re: Crazy Looking Custom on Evil Bay
The parts that I stated above dont look good to me; but you are right. If someone that didnt know about these trucks saw it they might think it was ment to be that way. He is real good at what he does and if I worked with him my fuel door would look alot better.

Re: Crazy Looking Custom on Evil Bay
Nice craftmanship but has gone to far away fron the classic lines of what makes our trucks stand out. Value $60-80K? I would rather spend that money on three or four of our trucks. JMHO

Re: Crazy Looking Custom on Evil Bay
This is craftsmanship and creativity at it's finest. I had the opportunity to chat briefly with Mr Christman, the builder of the "Infinity Flyer" at the Detroit Autoroama. Having seen the AMBR winner first hand, I can appreciate all the engineering, style, and craftmansip that went into building this extrodanairy truck. If I could afford it, that truck would be in my garage today. Anyone who can find fault with a truck of this caliber, whether they like bone stock, modified or mudders, don't, (or can't), appreciate master works of art. To see more of Mr McPherisons fantastic collection of cars, visit the RM Auction Web Site.
