6" lift, e-brake cables???
I'm in the process of installing a superlift all spring lift in my blazer. I've got the back springs done, but now the e-brake cables are too short. What is a good replacement for them. I was thinking of trying ones off a truck as they would be a little bit longer. Oh yeah it still has drum brakes in the back.

Re: 6" lift, e-brake cables???
You could always have custom cables made by in-line tube. You would have to know the length that they need to be though. WES

I have the same issue. Wasn't sure what the correct fix was.

Re: 6" lift, e-brake cables???
Could anyone with a shortbox or longbox truck tell me the length of their cables? I think it would be cheaper to get a set for a truck than have some made up.

Re: 6" lift, e-brake cables???
you can get some good cheap cable for what you are looking for at any bike store. shift cables for bikes or brake cables will work, they have the little locking thingies (i dont know what they are called) its what hooks in at the brake/brake lever and the shifter and shift pod. they are also very durable and if you spend a bit more money on them you can get ones that have a coating so they wont rust

Re: 6" lift, e-brake cables???
Hey, finally a question I know the answer to! The answer is ... a G30 van. Yep, I had too much lift when I bought my 72 and the e-brake cables were not connected. Not a big deal, I thought, until I found out that the e-brake is part of what adjusts the rear brake pads so that they stay the right distance from the drum. So what I found out over on the ColoradoK5 message board was that the cables (and the little metal parts that bolt onto the back of the brake) are the same but longer on the vans of about the same year (maybe until 1976?) and maybe on some of the trucks with longer wheelbases, but I got mine of of a van, so I can vouch for that. Here, I think I have photos. Oh, I also moved the bracket that mounts on the frame to the bottom but it turned out with the longer cable that I didnt need to do that after all.
