Re: Which Gen III motor?

Yes, some of the 01 and 02s (F-body's) had LS6 blocks. All 01+ had LS6 intakes, and LS6 clutches (manuals) But, these changes had nothing to do with SS vs Z28 or WS6 vs non-WS6. One thing, in 02 there was an option (I think for the SS and Firehawks....from SLP) for more power; essentially they put a airlid on them from the factory. I believe these were rated at 345HP. My lowly 01 Formula (factory rated at 310) put down 321 at the wheels. |

Re: Which Gen III motor?
It seems that GM under rates their power numbers. I always see people putting down 300+ on stock LS1 F body's.

Re: Which Gen III motor?
Not to hijack or change the direction of the thread, but what kind of mileage is acheiveable with a pretty much stock 4.8L and 4L60E in these trucks? Has anyone done this?

Re: Which Gen III motor?
Depending on your rear end gear, i would guess on the highway you should see 20+ MPG.
