Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial
Does anyone have any experience with the M/T ET Street Radials. I am thinking of getting a set of 295/45 R17's for the back of my truck. Basically, my truck only comes out on dry days but I do drive it and take quite a few trips to car shows, etc. Chances are good that I will be caught in the rain more than once and I am a little worried about wet traction. I realize they won't be great but are they as bad as some people say they are?

i ran a set on my drag/street truck
dont drive on rainy days - you will not get the life you expect out of them street driving - the soft walls don't take the abuse as a regular radial i was running 15" - i would think you would have a greater chance scrapping a rim with 17" wheels i would not recommend them for long drives - they heat up and the rearend "floats" at highway speeds i would also run tubes - my 2 cents |

Thanks 67-c10Texas. Based on your experience, it's looking like a no go. I do take the truck on long drives so "driveability" is important. It's too bad because the size is perfect for the stance I want.
Another question for the board... Does anyone know of another 295/45 R17 tire that is available??? Maybe even a 285/45 or 285/50?

I have et streets on my Nova and I completely agree with 67c-10texas... The BFG drag radial or Nitto drag radial does a better job for daily driving IMO... If you are serious about getting the truck to hook though the ET streets are insane once you get them warm!

buddies running stangs always talked about the nittos and bfg's. less milage thana standard tire but should accomidate the sizes you need

I hang out with a lot of Camaro/Firebird/Corvette guys. A lot of them run nitto DRs on the street as a regular tire and are happy with them and get decent mileage out of them ~12,000. BFG DRs and M/T DRs won't get you that. And I wouldn't even think about driving around on M/T E/T Street (non radial).
