I Need Opinions!!

I'm going to be switching to 5 lug, I'm switching to disk brakes up front at the same time. In the rear im just doing drop springs to lower, spindles and all up front, but what i really need to know is what do ya'll think of drilling the rear axles for 5 lug. I've got a sema certified chassis welder to do the work for me.

Re: I Need Opinions!!

68c10guy,

My 69 has the front hubs and rear axles with the old studs cut flush and 5 lug drilled. It has been fine for over 100k miles and +20yrs. However when I need new rear drums I don't know what I will do....

I have thought about installing 71 or 72 axles and use I think it is 73 rear drums to solve the problem, but have not done anything yet.

Right now the truck is on jack stands ready for the engine & tranny to come out and be replaced with one from a 99 Suburban.

Good Luck!
