Smile Hand throttle

Does anybody have pics of hand throttle setup
"Poor man's Cruise Control" from 69~70 (rod type) and 71~72 (cable type).

I'm buying one from a board member and just curious how they look in the gauge bezel.

Re: Hand throttle

I have a hand throttle in my 72 Blazer CST. The knob is located below the wiper knob. See picture below. It was listed as an option on the inside of my glovebox door. I was going to eliminate it since I'm installing a new dash bezel, but I think I will drill a hole in the dash to keep the truck original.

Re: Hand throttle

I have the throttle control option on my 72 K5 (option 1K3110) but the knob collar is broken and i've never tried to use it. What was the intended purpose of this? I can't see it being very safe used as cruise control. Does it even hold the throttle open that far?

Was this something even offered in 67/68?
I never knew there was this gizmo even offered, but it is a cool idea that I'd think about for my 68 burb?

Re: Hand throttle

it was not a cruise control by any steach of the imagination and to try and use it as such is plain stupid and dangerous as well as i'm sure illegal

they were designed for wiork vehicles to regulate speed on PTO as well as regulating speed when towing trailers thru farm fields doing stuff like loading hay and other crops
