Blazer Fuel tube coming into the bed?? W.T.F.? Does it do?
Ok This is my second Blazer and I've always wondered what that tube is for that has a gajilion fuel lines going into it? That runs up into the floor in the bed left side just behind the boxed in Filler neck hose.
Is it some sort of vent? So the tank fills faster? Can I remove it along with the mess of hoses that go with it?

I know what your talking about. It has 3 hoses going to it.Mine were all cracked and I didn't have a problem filling up the tank.I DID have a problem getting new rubber lines on those lines though. They are hella close together(the 2 ends of the tubes I mean)It's a beotch sliding on the new rubber lines.
I've looked in my manuals and all I can figure is it's part of the venting system.I don't know the effect's of removing it though.

It is a gas vapor/liquid trap + expansion tank. Vapors expand out of tank and into that tube. Any extra vapors are pushed out of that tube and into the charcoal canister at the front of truck. Then with the engine running vacuum pulls the vapors out of the charcoal and burns it.

There are only two hoses on my 69 K5. One for fill and one for vent. Must have worked just fine without all the smog crap that came out in 71. Jeff.

I know mine doesn't have the Charcoal filter on it anymore. SO part of the system is gone anyway. Is this effecting gas milage if there are just open hoses?
